Dear Breastfeeding Advocates;
Welcome to the Bay Area Lactation Association web page. If you are already a member – congratulations, you are taking fantastic steps toward supporting breastfeeding, improving your knowledge and networking with a dynamic group of breastfeeding professionals.
If you are not yet a member, I encourage you to attend a meeting and get to know more about BALA – meetings occur quarterly and are distributed throughout the Bay Area to make attendance easy for all. Membership is $40 per year. Membership in BALA helps to support five educational meetings per year; awards for members to attend lactation related conferences or for IBCLC certification. Your membership also helps support our parent organizations in their work to support the lactation consultant profession. We invite you to become a member of BALA and join a growing number of committed individuals who understand the significance of breastfeeding for infants, women, families and communities.
Everyone benefits from breastfeeding, but it isn't always easy. We understand the breastfeeding difficulties that families experience. We hope our activities will help expand the knowledge and ability of those caring for breastfeeding families in the San Francisco Bay Area to support and protect breastfeeding.
